Research & Development

As an Alliance we are keen to promote range of strategies to encourage research and development.

We recognise the role of action research in this journey and at NSFG, the lead school for R&D, we are in our second year of working with CCCU towards teaching and learning academy (tla) recognitions:

  • Identify a research problem (pertinent to SIP)
  • Review base knowledge
  • Specify a purpose and research question or hypotheses
  • Collect  both qualitative or quantitative data  
  • Analyse and interpret data
  • Evaluate research
  • Share findings

As an alliance, we are keen to develop this approach further, recognising how research findings can inform pedagogy and impact positively on student outcomes. Identifying schools within the Alliance, who keen to take on board this approach to professional development, is our aim. Bursaries will be made available to schools who demonstrate a passion to work collaboratively, in response to alliance priorities, and by doing so embark on research projects to develop effective pedagogies. By doing so, knowledge can be shared amongst the alliance schools to the benefit of our students
